We come to you in our state-of-the-art truck and mobile slaughter unit or assist you with farm kills, so you know you're getting back 100% of the animal you raised with care.
Using off-site meat plants means you're not guaranteed to get only your animal back. Because we operate right outside your door, you can rest assured knowing the animal you raised with care is the one you will get back.
Animals become stressed - and occasionally even injured -when moved off-site, which affects quality.
Our compassionate, skilled, on-site harvesting is necessary to ensure a far superior product.
Why wait months-or even years - to get an appointment at a traditional meat processing plant?
Your Local Butcher is a more accessible and efficient way to process your animals when you want, how you want, and where you want.
Due to the flexibility of our operation, we're able to process animals that may not meet the minimum weight requirements at a traditional processing plant.
Plus, our mobile slaughter unit is designed specifically for animals that most traditional meat processors ignore like sheep, goats, and pigs.
Please reach us at info@wheatridgepoultry.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes. In Colorado, a brand inspection is required for all beef and must be dated within 10 days of slaughter. It is your responsibility to contact the inspector and arrange for an inspection.

We will walk you through the process once your appointment is scheduled and confirmed but here are a few things to expect:
We ask that your animal is in a pen that can easily be accessed by our team.
Tractors and/or cranes may be required to assist in moving the animal(s) to our processing unit.
We prefer it if you are able to dispose of the waste on your property or by using your waste company.
We require access to a hose with potable running water.
Pictures of the animal and the property help us determine the equipment and staff that is necessary for us to perform a slaughter on your property.
Both inspections have benefits for small producers and depend on what your end goal is.
Custom Exempt Customers:
Custom Exempt Labels will clearly indicate the OWNER as the Carcass ID and will be labeled NOT FOR SALE
USDA Customers:
USDA Labels will include a "Bug" that indicates the animal was slaughtered under USDA Inspection. This "bug" is required on each package if you wish to sell individual cuts at markets, online, or in stores.

We can of course custom process your animal to your specifications, but you can find our standard cut sheets here.
An appointment is necessary. You can call us at 303-650-7471, submit the Interest Form (above), or email us at info@wheatridgepoultry.com.
