EVIDENCE OF SEX
Evidence of Sex that is naturally attached to the largest portion of the carcass or boneless meat is required. If you do not have Evidence of Sex, please visit CPW for a certificate that authorizes us to process your order without Evidence of Sex. We will NOT refund appointment fees if evidence of sex is missing.
CARCASS TAGS
A fully executed Carcass Tag is required on all orders over 20 lbs. We accept E-Tags and Ranch Tags for animals harvested in other states or on private property.
FEES
Cleaning, Storage and Skinning Fees are part of the contract and service agreement.

We are licensed to process small and big game and are currently accepting Bison, Deer, Elk, Pronghorn, Venison, Wild Boar, Ducks, Geese, Game Birds, and pretty much any other big or small game you can hunt legally.

REFUNDS
Refunds WILL NOT be issued on orders that test positive for CWD. Please keep your invoice as a receipt of payment, CPW may issue you a refund, but 5280 Processing WILL NOT!
Refunds WILL NOT be issued on orders that are seized by Colorado Parks & Wildlife. If you break the law, you must deal with the consequences. Our team should not lose time and money because of your mistake.

We offer a variety of raw and smoked sausages and jerky as well as our famous, AWARD WINNING, Brick Chili.
RAW SAUSAGE

Pork butts/shoulder are added to your meat to enhance the flavor profile and offer a better cooking and eating experience.
Raw Bulk Sausage is packaged in 1 lb. Poly Chubs and require a 5 lb. minimum per flavor.

Hunters do not have to make an appointment to pick-up their order. Hours available for pick-up change based on the season.

You can check the status of your order here. You may be asked to pick-up your basic processing (Part I) order before your sausage and jerky (Part II) are ready for pick-up.
We do charge storage fees. Storage fee of $5 per bag, per day will be charged if order is not picked up by close of business on the 3rd day after notification of completed order. Storage fees are considered a part of the contract and and/or agreement between hunter and 5280 Processing.

We are happy to accept drop-offs for both of our taxidermist but are unable to answer detailed questions. Current pricing is listed in the office and can be reviewed at the time of drop-off of your carcass or meat.
We DO NOT ship. We do recommend Ace Pack & Ship located on 20th and Wadsworth for your shipping needs.
We are happy to accept your carcass/meat prior to testing. If your animal tests positive for CWD, we will remove the order from production and destroy it unless you prefer to have us continue working on your order.
If your carcass tests positive for CWD, please notify us by e-mail. Please include your name and your ORDER NUMBER as well as how you wish for us to proceed with your order (continue or destroy).
CPW may refund hunters the cost of processing if there is proof of payment. We do not have direct knowledge of this program and cannot assist you further than asking you to call CPW.
In Colorado, hunters must report the harvest of moose and bear to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). Hunters must also report if they didn't harvest a moose or bear. This inspection must occur on or before the 5th day after harvest. All bears and moose arriving at 5280 Processing for processing must have the proper inspection and seals.
Yes, we accept waterfowl for processing and production of sausages, jerky, and/or specialty products like brick chili.
Game birds and waterfowl are accepted during open receiving hours however, we only process, produce, and package these orders once per month at the end of each month.
A 25 lb. minimum is required for each product. For the sake of our processing staff, as an example, Black Pepper Jerky and Red Pepper Jerky are two products and would require a 25 lb. order for each "flavor" / product. All products are mixed with pork shoulder and/or beef and beef fat.

ALL MIGRATORY GAME BIRDS MUST HAVE A TAG OR BE IN A CONTAINER OR PACKAGING THAT HAS AN ATTACHED TAG SIGNED BY THE HUNTER, STATING THE HUNTER'S ADDRESS, THE TOTAL NUMBER AND SPECIES OF BIRDS, THE DATE SUCH BIRDS WERE KILLED, AND THE HUNTER'S HUNTING LICENSE NUMBER
We gladly accept animals from out of state as long as they were harvested legally and have the correct documentation and/or evidence of sex.
Some species require transportation documentation, the state you are hunting in should have this information readily available to you in the provided handbooks or websites.

Scraps that would normally be tossed in the landfill are repurposed and donated to the tigers at the Downtown Denver Aquarium or one of the three animal sanctuaries we work with.
We also have the ability to sell these inedible scraps. If you are interested in purchasing bones, hides, or inedible meat, please contact us at 303-650-7471.
Basic Processing Orders may take up to 10 days depending on the season. Sausage, Jerky and Specialty Orders may take up to 12 weeks depending on the season.
During Rifle Seasons, we process all fresh cuts (steaks, roasts, burger) before we begin sausage and jerky orders. Your meat being used for sausage will be frozen until we are ready to produce your order.
We instituted a color system to help our staff identify products. Since we process such a large number of animals, it is much easier to have systems in place to help us work more efficiently.

All Ground Game Meat is identified by ORANGE tape.
Unfortunately, orders are considered complete once they are input into our system. Please review our product list prior to placing your order so you can ensure you are ordering the correct products.
We do not file orders by name. Your carcass/meat is assigned an invoice number at drop-off. This number remains with your order throughout the entire production process. Assigning an invoice number helps eliminate any confusion that filing by name may lead to. Think about how many Steve Martinez's or David Smith's there are in Denver.
A deposit of at least 50% of the balance due is required at the time of drop-off. Payments can be made in the form of cash or credit/debit card.
Yes, some of our products contain allergens. We do our best to identify those allergens on our packaging. It is important to note that wild game products are not inspected by USDA FSIS.
Some of our products contain Soy, Dairy, and/or Wheat and some of our spices come from plants that handle known major allergens.
If you are concerned about the allergens listed above (or those that may not be listed) we recommend you not eat meat processed in our facility.
